We are conducting a specialized national search for an experienced Director of Medical Management for a major healthcare system located in Dallas, TX. In this high profile role the Director of Medical Management is responsible for compliance with various CMS mandates as well as overseeing patient care. This will include assuring that patient care is managed appropriately as it relates to Case Management, Social Work, Palliative Care and Denials Management departments. The Director of Medical Management will be an accomplished leader implementing Quality management programs and initiatives, participate in P&L for managed areas and will possess the ability to create solutions to achieve the desired outcome for the healthcare system.
Our selected candidate will have a proven track record of creating high performance teams who exhibit a profound sense of ownership, commitment to quality and customer service. This candidate will also be expected to strive for high patient satisfaction and the achievement of performance metrics and goals as well as the ability to demonstrate excellent physician relations and the ability to monitor effectiveness and identify and resolve areas in need of improvement. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Evaluating and reviewing medical treatments to ensure it is medically necessary and appropriate, preventing inappropriate or excessive treatment, understanding how to apply state and federal legislations and regulations to managed areas; Working with and evaluating contracts, developing clinical process improvement, team management, utilization management, discharge planning, clinical quality management and capacity management. The Director of Medical Management will be responsible for 2 hospitals totaling approximately 700 beds and will lead 3 managers and direct a team of 40 FTE's. The Director will have two support personnel in the department to assist with daily functions and will report to the Executive VP - Chief Operating Officer.
Position Requirements: Acute care healthcare system experience required; Minimum of a Masters degree required (MSN, MHA, MBA, MSW) with appropriate licensure; Certification in Case Management (CCM), or CPHQ certifications are preferred; 5 plus years related experience managing or directing a Medical Management/Care Management program within an acute care hospital system; Documented experience leading teams and implementing strategies developed by the teams is required as is evidence of the use of CQI/PI methods; Demonstrated ability to facilitate process improvement initiatives for the health care system; Possess the ability to enter and manage data, create reports and documentation; Demonstrated computer literacy with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint); Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
