| Job Description - External:
Works to achieve high quality, cost-effective healthcare for the patients served at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. Provides leadership and management of the patient safety and performance improvement programs. Proactively identifies target areas for improvement and assists hospital leaders and physicians in developing strategies to improve performance in quality and patient safety. Utilizes basic and advanced analyses techniques to identify areas for improvement related to quality, patient safety, operational, financial, and other performance and external benchmarking measures. Provides advanced logistical and technical support for MWH external benchmarking initiatives. Assures the requirements for patient safety and quality management set by JCAHO and CMS are met.
Experience - External:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field. Desired, masters degree or advanced training in patient safety and quality management.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
1. Four or more years experience in healthcare administration, three of which were in a quality management and/or patient safety, decision support or similar information analysis role.
2. Two years progressive management experience.
3. Education may be substituted for some of the above.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS DESIRED/REQUIRED
Desired: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
1. Knowledge of advanced statistical analysis techniques and software.
2. Advanced knowledge of performance improvement methodologies & principles.
3. Advanced knowledge of the principles of patient safety.
4. Knowledge of JCAHO & CMS requirements for performance improvement and patient safety.
5. Advanced skill in use of spreadsheet, relational database and word processing software. Advanced knowledge of database design and database query languages in use at MWH.
6. Advanced skill in use of databases for aggregation of data for analysis.
7. Strong leadership qualities (task completion, motivation).
8. Superior interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to independently analyze and solve problems.
10. Strong managerial and interpersonal skills.
