In collaboration with the Quality Director, oversees the daily operations of the QM Department and provides guidance to the staff as necessary or seeks consult from the Director of Quality. The position requires a thorough knowledge of TQM practices, hospital policies/procedures, and regulatory requirements. The ability to assume responsibility and exercise authority in the absence of the Quality Director is required. Medical records reviews, interactive associations, and managerial tasks are inherent in this position. Assistance with the coordination of select committees (such as Peer Review, CQM, Infection Prevention, etc..,) including agendas, logistics, and minutes. The ability to retrieve, communicate, and present data and information verbally and in writing is essential. Collaborates with members of the department team to abstract medical records for Core Measures and HBIPS and educate team members.
